Today I am spring cleaning with the family. Mostly the boys play outside and stay out of my hair. I tore up the living/family room, rearranged, cleaned the empty furniture and all the stuff that goes on and in it, and the walls and floors. WHEW! We live on the coast so it's super moist. This gets really gross when furniture blocks airflow. The new rearrangement is enhancing of air flow. Bad news is...I have too much stuff. Everything that didn't get put back is all sitting in a pile in the middle of the floor. Most of it will be sold at the yard sale. This has been bothering me/making me feel guilty for 4 years. Why didn't I do this a long time ago?

Thank you for the encouragement to get Spring Cleaning! There is a monster under my bed. I put it there. 20 pounds of garbage later, I now have a little air flow in that corner. I still need to scrub with some soapy water but the paper is gone! Also we emptied a box from under my bed. 10 more pounds of garbage in there! The children are starting collection for a yard sale and they are spring cleaning their room too!

Thanks for your welcoming comment! I certainly am kept on my toes with 3 daughters, a messy husband, 2 dogs (1 a puppy who chews everything!) and a cat! Loving the spring-cleaning course! I did a huge springclean just before Ashleigh was born (6 months ago) and I am due to do it again so thanks for the push! :-)

Hi Jan,

I just wanted to ask a quick question - are the worksheets that I downloaded the "course" or am I missing something? Sorry, I have been consumed with another course I'm taking and haven't had a chance to look over all the worksheets just yet. By the end of this week I should be able to though.

Hi Jan, that's great to know. I'm glad I am in such good company.

I was hoping to do two and a half hours on it, but found that I did about three quarters of an hour, and then did 'free' tidying - ie just routine work, going around the house doing stuff that was crying out to be done.

I feel much better and have made a big improvement.

And you are right - it meant that after lunch I could lie down for half an hour - in an environment significantly less cluttered. The other thing I do is to clear the window side first - so I am looking out at the tree outside and all the clutter is behind me on the other side out of sight, but I still feel connected with nature.

Hi Jan. With my medical condition, I'm able to work in 15 minute increments and then rest for 15 minutes, which may not sound like much, but I'm really making a big difference in the appearance of my house. Each day I now have a satisfied feeling of accomplishment knowing that my home is a few steps closer to my ideal. Thanks for your encouragement and all you do.

Thanks Jan. Your prompt comment certainly was welcoming. I plan on taking some time to read the info I have purchased and read what others have written. I know I can make a big improvement in developing a routine since I actually do not have one now. Thanks again.

What wonderful insight. I'm comfortable agreeing to how society has shifted. A popular author wrote a book about this issue. Although Dr. Hallowell is an expert in the ADHD field, his book speaks to society being Crazy Busy

I have heard the same about the vitamin c and bought the packets of Vitamin C Emergency C that you mix in water. It tastes great! I have managed to get 3 weeks of lesson plans and chore charts completed for the kids & especially so my husband will have an idea of what the kids and I accomplish every day. LOL!
How are things with you and your family? Are you making plans for Thanksgiving and decorating for fall Halloween/Thanksgiving season? I have been working on changing out all my candles and wreath, & pillows. Home is really beginning to look more warm and cozy for the season. My girls love it when I start making pumpkin bread and apple butter. I made that last weekend and it was a huge hit!
I need to get busy and complete my work for our Women's Bible Study - we are doig Beth Moore's Breaking Free.
I will talk to you soon! Have a wonderful day.

That's amazing! I've always been interested in psychology. If I had gone with a career when I was younger, that's what I had wanted to do, or social work.

That is so wonderful about your son. It's my biggest fear that my kids will grow up and I'll lose touch with them. He sounds like he's doing really well, you must be soooo proud.

You really have some beautiful children there! I know you are going to do well, it must be quite interesting and even exciting (and exhausting some days I'm sure)

Thanks for the welcome Jan. I am going back to college picking up where I left off with my paralegal degree. This semester is accounting, business law and psychology.

I was amazed at how easy and quick the process was with the continuing ed department. I attend class for 2 hours a day in the evening 4 days a week.

Yes, I do hear from my 24 year old I'm happy to say. Although he is still "my breathe", I have learned to watch him take the hard road when it is his choice to do so. He tells me every time we talk that I am the best mom ever and refuses to let me help him with $$ saying I gave him enough already (though I do sneak a couple of small care packages in from time to time). I'm proud to say he is in his 2nd year of college and doing it all on his own.

The best part ? is how supportive all 3 kids have been to me going back to school and needing time to do homework! They all ask with interest how I like it and what I am learning. Granted they still expect the dishes done and dinner cooked ala mom :) But 2 nights a week the 16 yo cooks dinner for his little sister while I'm at class, so I don't mind that I have not been totally replaced!

Now if I can just get them to take 5 minutes and put clean sheets on their beds today :)

Hi, Jan. Hope your Spring into Spring is going great! I am having some trouble with today's download. The page shows that it's done loading but it remains blank. Have you had anyone else have trouble? I have tried it at different times during the day but no luck.

Thanks ~ Traci

Hi Melanie, I don't think you sent me an invite request to the group, I am going to send you one and then add some instruction there. Let me know if you have any problems getting in or downloading from there. I am going there now to send you the invite.

I am so glad that you feel that way. I am really excited to have the community going, it's been a goal of mine for at least 3 years.

The ebooks and items that I have on my sites are on the directory at this site.

http://www.queenofkaos.com

I will be adding more, and also creating groups and companion courses for most of them.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I am still in the beginning stages of setting up here, I will be sure to have a listing included.

When you signed for the Spring Into Spring Cleaning Challenge you should have been taken to a page that had a sign up form on it.

That form which includes your email and name will hook you up for the daily 20 minute tasks and for the Spring Cleaning Tips for Mom ebook and pretty much anything else over the length of the challenge.

If you did fill in the form with your email and name, you should receive a verification email, you will need to click a link to start receiving your emails from me (it's a safety for you against spam). After you have verified by clicking the link, let me know if you don't receive your orientation email, that is the first in the series.

If you didn't see the form, let me know and I'll send you the page.

I am checking right now to see if you are listed on the Spring Into Spring Challenge group. You should be but I may have done something wrong, it's new to me too :0)

My internet connection is acting up, I'm on satellite and it doesn't seem to like the night. If I lose my connection, I will be sure that you are set up in the am!

first? I feel special. This is my first time doing something like this forum. I'm sure it will be fun. I have to confess though...I've had a hard time finding the ebooks on your site. Also, when I signed up for this "class" there was a whole menu of options that looked fun...can you help me navigate better your services/offerings? Thanks.

Check it out!
