I find that it helps me when I am tempted to bring something into the house to ask if I have a home for it. Often I don't and the thought of having it laying around in my way makes me not get it! Or it makes me think through a plan beforehand, such as getting rid of something else. It makes a huge difference!
Using cash also makes a huge difference! I like to keep it in my purse, in fact, I'm addicted to it :0))
