Sparkle - Day 3

Today was a much better day.

I did so well yesterday that i contemplated skipping today.

DANGER! WARNING! DON'T EVEN GO THERE!

Although I could have, and picked up tomorrow without any dire consequences, I'm glad that I didn't.

Firstly because it sets a bad precedence.

Very bad.

This is the first step on the way to finding ourselves someday right back in the mess and wondering what happened.

Secondly because every day it just keeps getting better and better. Today was no exception.

I trotted upstairs and cleaned around the bathtub.

When I say cleaned around the bathtub, I mean I took loads and loads of crap from the edge that surrounds our tub.

We have a nice tub and what should, or will be a nice cedar lined tub area. But for now it's not finished (sigh).

So 'maybe' in my attempts to ignore the fact, I was also ignoring some mega clutter and cleaning jobs.

I had a bath this morning and didn't even notice it.

I just went up because I was looking with a new eye at what could be a great 5 Minute Magic job.

And it was!

It took me pretty much all of 5 minutes to clean it off!

Now it's clear and I am contemplating what to put there that will cover the edges until we get them finished.

That I know won't be until sometime this fall. We have a lot of outside stuff to tackle first over the summer.

I got it!

Plants.

I could nicely cover the sides with plants that will jazz up the bathroom.

My ex sister in law (a natural born clean freak with a good talent for decorating to boot. She even did her chicken coop!) did that with hers and it was a veritable oasis.

SO...

Lesson learned was raise the bar.this is one of the biggest strengths of the BOOST Housework Circuit.

Rather than quit when we think it's good enough, which often isn't because we have become accustomed to looking at and putting off the piles and messes, we continue beyond what we may normally do.

I had an inkling that it was 'good enough' and I could spend my time doing something else.

But when I decided to keep at it I was able to go a level deeper in the bathroom and am SOOOOOO pleased, well I will be when I get my plants.

I am going to save my pictures until I get the plants.

I feel a shopping trip coming on for tomorrow.
