Living Clean

Day 8 - My Baby Graduated Junior Public - whahhhh!

Yesterday was quite busy with a last minute trip down to the hairdresser so that my daughter could get her hair cut for her grade 6 grad, next year she goes to senior public. She will love it.

It is the end of an era for me. At one time all 3 of my kids were in junior public and it seems like it would always be that way.

Now one is out of school completely, my middle daughter is going into grade 11 and youngest is moving on.

It's hard to believe.

So, I didn't get my BOOST done in the morning, and was quite exhausted that night (and a little sad, call me sappy, but the passing of Farrah Fawcett was upsetting to me, she was such a truly beautiful, loving person who I really admired. I grew up in the 'Farrah Era', what can I say :0)

So instead of an 'official' BOOST Circuit, I did a general pick up and vacuum, and caught up on some laundry.

It is to the point now that it just doesn't feel right unless I do at least one 'layer' at some point through the day.

And that I suppose is a big win. It seems normal now, but there were many, many days when that was not the case, and we all paid dearly with mess, confusion and disappointment (mostly of myself in myself).

I can truly say that there is no better way to spend 30 - 45 minutes a day than giving your home a BOOST.

The benefits are soooo far reaching.

TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGING

It brings to mind something that happened with my eldest daughter.

She had invited a friend over and I told her to be sure to let me know when she was coming. It was mostly so that I would know when/if I had to go pick her up, it's a bit of a drive.

And she said, something like why, or probably doesn't matter much because you don't have to clean the house now.

To be fair, she used to help if she was having a friend over, but it brought to mind the 'old routine'.

Pressure to get some 'extra' time to do some 'extra' cleaning so that the house would be presentable, and often it still wasn't really.

Now with the grad stuff going on etc it was sooo nice not to have to give it a second thought.

The difference had almost passed me by.

HOW DOES THE ETERNAL MESS EFFECT THE KIDS?

And it brought to mind again how this eternal mess and way of life effects our kids, even when we don't realize it.

It makes me wonder if or how often any of them didn't have friends over, or gave it second thoughts because they knew that I would have to 'clean up' first and on and on.

I'm just glad that I've finally found a way out and it's all so much easier now.

Don't forget that you can too. Anyone can.

It takes focus, some dedicated time every day (if you have little kids you can break it up, or allow extra time for interruptions or for 'helpers' - I highly recommend getting them in on it with you), and it takes dedication/commitment.

You have to want it.

And you have to believe in yourself and your ability to do it ( my aha moment and how it changed everything).

Give it an honest try and you may be surprised.

Start with 10 minutes today.

If you want some help or would like to try the complete system that I created, grab your BOOST.
