Living Clean

I really don't know if I can do this... but I will try...

trying to get my head around all of the info here. and feeling a little overwhelmed.

I have massive decluttering to do and as I have been sick fo ages my house is in a state of chaos!!

So I guess I have to start somewhere and just pace myself so I don't experience burn out.

I just really want to simplify my life and enjoy it more.. I want to have more energy for my kids rather than feeling tired when I have time with them from doing so much around the house or with my business

So we shall see how we go!

Day1- So I have set up my emails already... I am a little late in getting going with this... was a bit out of sync when daily emails started arriving... but its ok... they're saved and I can just open them at my own pace..

So today I checked Day 1 email... and realised I already had my email folder set up... printed the 21 day checklist and the boost circuit... ready to use for tomorrow..

in thinking about the green caddy thing for tomorrow I am trying to think about what I already have at home I can use... but otherwise will grab some stuff (spray bottles etc and bucket to store stuff) from the cheap shop tomorrow.

I suppost I kind of already have a bit of a morning Boost routine set up... just gotta get consistent with it.

Typically my morning routine is..

-get dressed

-make bed

-open curtains

-take load of washing to laundry and put it on

-have brekky with kids

-do brekky dishes (unpack and repack dishwasher)

-wipe down table and benches

-take vitamins

-check my calendar

-spend 15 minutes in a part of the house that most needs my attention (NOW this is the part I always neglect to do!)

and if I am not moving through my morning well... this morning routine can take half the day... as I have a 2 year old and a 5 year old to get off to school..... so amidst this routine is changing nappies, making lunches, doing hair, breaking up squabbles, looking after a friends child and trying to brush my hair and do my teeth so I don't look like something the cat dragged in!!

Its hectic and I am exhausted by lunchtime!!

but will keep trying!

Boost sheet printed.... customised.... ready to go..

the plan tomorrow is to grab some spray bottles from the cheap shop and get a little cleaning kit ready to go!

Bex, your morning routine is almost identical to mine.  I did take the 15 minutes though and move it to the afternoon, because like you, it was taking much longer than just the morning to get everything done.

So far the biggest thing that has helped me is to move QUICKLY.  For example, I give myself 5 minutes to unload the dishwasher and it's amazing that I can actually get it done in that time frame.  Before I started, it would have taken me 10 - 15 minutes because I moved slowly and there were too many distractions (kids fighting is a great example).  Now, everything can wait for 5 minutes and the work gets done in much less time.

And I hear you on being exhausted by lunch time...story of my life!

yes... life with kids... rewarding but equally exhausting.... still wouldnt' have it any other way right?  O have a 5yo daughter and 2yo son.... and hoping for more...

sounds like you have your hands full too!  I have had a hectic morning with swimming lessons, the school run and shopping.... now I need to rest up so I can get Boosting later!! already done some.... and got my supplies together.... I am on my way...

now for some me time... going to do some knitting in front of the telly and also have a cuppa and some lunch!

Ouuuu I'm a crocheter...just about the only thing that keeps me sane.  :)

So you're obviously on the other side of the world from me, because it's evening here and we just ate and it's almost bed time for my boys...hallelujah!

That's funny, when my kids were little I used to wake up early just so that I could get 1/2 hour in to knit (or read) while I had my coffee. I loved to knit, would do it any chance I go (in the car, visiting inlaws etc - am trying to get back to it but haven't quite done it yet!

I just got back into crocheting a few months ago....best thing ever because I need that time to relax.

Me and knitting don't get along...although I did teach myself to cast on, knit and purl haha.  Have never actually made anything though.

If you can knit and purl (and cast on :0) you can make some great scarves. They sell for quite a bit at the markets. Might be something to think about adding to your product line? I saw your hats, they are so adorable!

I made some really fast scarves and hats with huge needles and some nice wool this winter, didn't take much time at all. I gave one set away for Christmas. If I can find the pattern etc I'll post it.

That would be great!  I'm always looking to expand the items I make.

I would love to have a little knitting business!!  I have just got my sewing machine out this weekend.... first time ever!!!!

Got my boost sheet ready for the day... got to do ironing  :(

"-spend 15 minutes in a part of the house that most needs my attention (NOW this is the part I always neglect to do!)"

Hi Bex, if you can focus on doing this consistently you will see some great improvement. You can start with that for now and add to it if you can in 5 minute increments as it becomes a habit.

You have the right idea about the caddy - keep it simple and use up what you have before you buy new unless you are willing to get rid of the old. You may even be able to reuse some of your spray bottles if you have them.

My cleaning caddy is very simple. My spray bottles at the moment are

1. soap/water solution for heavy duty cleaning.

2. essential oils and water for lighter cleaning and deodorizing.

3. fine mist essential oils with water for room spray.

I just recently added the soap/water bottle. I used to use the water/essential oils for most everything and just add some soap to my scrubber if I needed it. I often used a bit of laundry soap or dish soap.

Marketing of cleaning products has become far to complicated IMHO :0)

Hi Bex! I'm so glad to see you here!! It is a little overwhelming at first but it does get better - and better as you go along. I still feel overwhelmed myself some days and then amazed at how much better things can be in a relatively short amount of time, even though it sure didn't feel like it ever would!

Decluttering is definitely a part of the picture, (we tackle that in more depth in month two) everything is so much easier when there isn't so much stuff. It took me a long time to figure that out, after that things got a lot better.

If you can combine a little decluttering with your BOOST, that would be great. If not, the challenge is really about getting in the habit of spending some structured time using your BOOST housework circuit on your home every day.

You will see results right away and it takes care of the maintenance portion, which is so important for any kind of lasting success. A little decluttering will naturally happen as you work on your areas within your BOOST Circuit sheet.

It's very customizable, use it to suit yourself and do what ever you can do.

If you can do some now, you may be able to do more later. One day at a time is all you can do :0)

If you have any questions, just let me know!
