Living Clean

I really don't know if I can do this... but I will try...

trying to get my head around all of the info here. and feeling a little overwhelmed.

I have massive decluttering to do and as I have been sick fo ages my house is in a state of chaos!!

So I guess I have to start somewhere and just pace myself so I don't experience burn out.

I just really want to simplify my life and enjoy it more.. I want to have more energy for my kids rather than feeling tired when I have time with them from doing so much around the house or with my business

So we shall see how we go!

Day 2... caddy all ready.

Managed to do quite a few boost activities too

-vacuuming

-folding

-washing

-cleaned counters

-dishwasher packed/unpacked twice

-cleaned toilets and basins

-cleared my dining table

-decluttered coat hook area

-got the kids to do a "shoe hunt"- this is where they collect all the shoes around the house and "deliver" them to the right bedroom... they love it! And they also did this for the coats as well.

-prepared dinner ahead of time

-had some "me" time knitting away.... and couple time by getting mum to baby sit while hubby and I went out.

So yay for me... tomorrow is Saturday and will circle some more boost activities which focus on other areas of the house... like maybe the bedrooms and my office we shall see.

I even cleared a shelf in the cupboard in the laundry (did 3 loads today) for my new cleaning caddy!!

So proud!!! lol

Exhausted now though... was a big day with swimming lessons and all the rest!! now for a good nightsleep

Mum coming over again tomorrow to teach me how to sew!! squee!!!

You mentioned getting a good night's sleep and I just had to say that my sleep has been so much better since I started doing this.  I think the physical exhaustion is doing me good :)

Day 4- Did my Boost.... felt so tired but really into what I was doing...

I did 1 hour of ironing

1 hour of folding

2 loads of washing done

cleaned my benches

made bed

dishwasher done twice

handwashed the woolies

... now resting and going to aim for bed by 9:30........ work tomorrow.... so not sure what will get done

day 5 done...

had to work today so didnt' get as much done

but I got part of my boost done before work and so "today was a great day because" I had a clear workspace to prepare dinner in rather than stressing about a messy kitchen and opting for fast food!!!

A clear space in the kitchen can make such a difference in your health for exactly that reason - I find the same thing. Who would have thought? :0)

Day 9

got heaps done.

completed morning routine

swept,

heaps of washing and folding (including my snap in cloth nappies)

toilets cleaned

mopped

swept outside leaves off deck and away from front door

changed bed sheets

washed towels

spent 10 minutes clearing away surface clutter

took out garbage and recycling

got some me time... knitting and wathching telly

and time with my son... swimming lesson...

So now... I am pretty tired.

day 12...

I have been doing all my morning jobs which I am so please with and checking my kitchen before I go to bed.

laying out clothes for kids the night before... it just makes everything work so much more smoothly.....

I have also starting decluttring by going through all the books in the house.... got a few boxes of books to sell at our upcoming garage sale....

now off to bed for me...

Hi Bex, I've been finding evenings to be very useful for me as well. My normal shift starts at 7am, rather than driving like a madman to work every morning I decided to prep my lunch, clothes and anything else in the evening. I'm getting on to it!

It's so great that you are checking your kitchen before you go to bed as well, that can make mornings so much better. It's all really about setting yourself up for success (or less stress, you can fill in the blank!)

I was just looking at an article I did awhile ago about getting dishes/kitchen done and had mentioned that as well - it works really well to do a quick check of the bathroom as well.

I have got tons of books as well. I am going to take them to the farmers market that I am doing on Tuesdays - I love to read but it is a main source of clutter for me as well so I need to continually go through them - although these days I rely on the library and free audio books that we can get through the library as well rather than buy - I buy a few very good ones but they have to be something I know I will use often.
