KEEP IT SIMPLE The power of using Go Groups is to create a concentrated focused time slot with a little accountability thrown in for good measure.
To do that, here are the rules...
Go Groups start exactly at the designated start time and end at the duration end time.
The rule is that we get in, get out and get on with the good stuff of life!
Come on a few minutes early to announce your project and let us know that you are participating and at the end to announce your progress and your plan to maintain momentum in the future (create another go group or when you will pencil in another work session in your planner)
That's all there is to it!

Hi Mary, glad to see that you are still at it!!! I'm really amazed at how much I have accomplished of lasting value since starting with the groups, can't wait to progress as time goes along, so exciting!!!
Got power back this afternoon. Worked on my planner pages and had started to go really deep into cleaning my closet when there wasn't much else to do so it looks really good even though that had not been the plan for this weekend!
Got rid of quite a bit of stuff by playing a 'half game' - tried to half what ever I could - 2 bookshelves became one, 2 hair/makeup etc areas for getting ready in the am for work became one shelf that is handy to the mirror, should save some time - anywhere that I could stretch just a little to half a space or double what I was getting rid of (stretched a give away bag that was a little over half to become full - a box of books that was almost full to become full)
Will be working every morning except Tues this week but will be making an effort to do 2 - 3 GO Groups after work this week to neaten up the closet a little - still needs some straightening and do a little more in our basement entrance.
I tweet if I am doing a GO Group at the correct time, haven't always if I am just hopping in but I will start as you never know who may like to join in. Maybe it would be good to tweet what we did when we finish to create a running record of accomplishment and a little added interest.
Monday, got a bit of a late start. Got the laundry going and cleaned out the vegetable bin in the fridge.
I thought I could use the "What are you up to?" box at the right under "Latest Activity" to tweet and post here at the same time. It looks like that's what it's for. But it's just for this site. Dang, would've been great to do both with one log-in.
The weather is just crummy here--rain and wind. It really feels like Monday.
Hi Mary! I'm doing the 8/11 this morning, I got distracted talking to the kids and I didn't realize the time. So I'm starting in a minute or two.
I do have the option to hook that to twitter I think and originally had thought to use that when we do our groups especially as they get busier, it would keep the forum clearer and easier to see. To hook it to twitter/facebook etc there is a monthly fee and I just don't have the participation right now to pay it.
I am considering options, possibly moving the group directly to facebook? I'm looking at that too, up to now I haven't used facebook much (probably the last person on the planet!) and have got locked out of my old account due to an email change (can't access my password) but I started a new one and am trying to figure how best to use it :0)
Hi Jan,
I swept and made a pass at the microwave. Not 15 minutes, but a few minutes!
You're not the last person on the planet with facebook--I am! I don't have an account. Probably a law against that by now?! No problem tweeting from the twitter site at all.
This group will probably expand--I'm hoping. It seems like the sort of thing that needs a track record and some word of mouth. I'm getting a lot of out it. It's kind of reassuring, at 8 a.m. and maybe 2:30 p.m. I can put in 15 minutes around the house and feel terribly virtuous!
Mary
thanks Mary - that's so true, I feel extremely virtuous too, that may be the biggest pay off :0))
OK, 15 minute project today is to make a sleeping area for the dog in the room I cleared last week.
Setting timer to GO!
darn computer froze and didn't post this - already used it once when the dog came in with soaking wet feet!
GOt it done!
Now the dog has a place to sleep so now if I need to keep him downstairs for some reason I can shut the door, maybe the cats too. They are reeking havoc (pardon the pun!) on the house in too many ways to count - dirt, hair, clawing things (like my new couch - grrr!), knocking stuff over and sitting on stuff they are not supposed to be sitting on (and one has decided to start using a big tre, so even if I can keep them contained for a bit of the time until summer when they can go out it should help.
This 15 minutes has probably saved me a bunch of frustration and time later! Yayyyyy!!!
Sounds terrific! A place of their own.
My dog threw up during the night so I started the morning cleaning up after her. She watched with some interest, then she looked pointedly at her food bowl which is empty.
I think they figure we're servants occupying space in their home and ought to be grateful. Instead we're inefficient and rude!
Today I'm vacuuming.
Hi all,
I've been missing in action for a couple days. And I'll be gone tomorrow. My schedule will get back to normal (HA!) next week.
Cheers,
Mary
Hi Mary, me too!!
I'm really focused and pumped around here with the spring weather and progress I've been making with the GO Group time.
I will check in later, I am going shopping for paint and curtain material today!
OK, back at it! I have a box of skates sitting in my livingroom that have been waiting for me to pack them up and donate to the local arena - I am hoping that 15 minutes is going to get them out of here! Here I GO!
Forgot to check back in! I did manage to get most of them wiped up and into a box that is now in my car waiting to be dropped off. Yayyyy!!! So nice to reclaim the space and let someone else make some good use of the skates too.
