Today I threw out quite a lot of old magazines and papers. We now have a new kerbside bin, where we can throw out paper - it goes into a caddy at the top of the wheelie bin. This is collected every 2 weeks. So my new resolution is to fill that every week. So once a fortnight I can put it out, then the other week I can go to the recycle dump myself to empty it.
On Friday the piano tuner arrived - I had totally forgotten he was coming. The whole area was junked up.
He did not bring the new dog - the old dog died a year back.
Anyway, it was really embarrassing - and as he had got me out of bed, I had to leave him there with the mess while I went up and changed out of my towel and into some proper clothes. How embarrassing!
When I got downstairs he lauhged it off, and said he would go to his next client first. Luckily they were just up the road and did not mind.
That gave me just over an hour to tidy everything around the piano. It was mostly papers - I had been tidying the other side of the room and so the piano was very piled up with papers from everywhere else.
I switched all this to the kitchen table and piled everything up there instead. Since then I have cleared it all and either thrown it out or found a home for everything.
Now it is very tidy on that side of the room.
I have also started to go through the kitchen shelves again and to clean the windows which I have not done for quite a while.

Hi Louise! I think most everyone has had a similar story at one time or another.
One good thing about mortification is that it can be really motivating and put you on turbo clean or a few days!
That's really great that you have tackled that stuff and now it's out of your hair!!
