This is a picture of my bedside reading 'pile'.
I try to keep it to a dull roar but seem to have lost the ability to read one thing at a time anymore.
I read almost every night before I go to bed. Part of the problem is that I am usually too tired by the time I get there to do any real, quality reading so I skim a book or two.
Then I am sure that I will want to read more about it tomorrow, when I definitely will be getting to bed earlier, tomorrow hasn't arrived for a long time lately!
The pile keeps getting bigger and I can't seem to discipline myself to read one book at a time.
Does anyone else have this strange habit?
I have been doing well so far on whittling down the book pile that I promised I would get rid of by the end of the week on day one of the
Spring Cleaning Challenge (I did manage to part with a large stack of books too) , part of those books are from it, but beyond that, this pile is fairly typical of my bedside area most times.
I'm sure that a regular cleaning time to put away books whether I still think that I am reading them or not would be a good idea.
Maybe I could theme my week and even do some book reports for my blogs to try to recapture my attention span.
It never used to be a problem for me to sit through a whole book.
Is this a symptom of the computer training my brain to read things quickly, in bite size chunks and move on?
Am I getting old and losing brain cells?
Or is this something other people do?
If so, what is your solution besides put in a library beside your bed?
