Living Clean

Yesterday was the last day of the 12 week Fit Yummy Mummy Transformation Challenge for me. Some other FYM's will be carrying on until the end of May. I've joined the After the Challenge group, so I will be continuing as well.

So I thought it was fitting that I should create a topic on Fit Yummy Mummy, there are a lot of exciting things going on there, Holly keeps it hopping!

I've posted my before and after shots and a bit about on my SIZZLIN' blog. You can read it here.

Graduation Day at FYM

I had fallen out of the habit of regular exercise and good eating habits until I came across Holly's program and Club FYM, since then, I've been heading in the right direction again. A little farther to go, but at least I'm getting there.

If you're looking for a program that you can do at home, you should check it out.

Here we are Jan 2010 and I'm gearing up for another challenge. We just finished a 6 week sprint to help us start the holiday season ahead of the game - Jan 11 is time to get back to it.

I feel so much better when I am 'on' that I can't wait. Only a few more days!

I'm so excited that I am counting down on my blog with a new post for each day examining a different idea to help you get and stay on track.

You can see it here...

Being a member of Club FYM and finishing the New Year 12 week Transformation Challenge has been a big eye-opener for me as to my own internal chatter and bad habits that were stopping me from being my best. I am so glad I've joined FYM and recommend it to everyone! Holly rocks! Amazing how exercise and good eating can give you so much more energy. :)
It is absolutely amazing! I saw improvements almost immediately and continue to do so.

This is going to sound weird, but I think of myself as going from grey to colour when I think of how I was before I found Holly and Club FYM. I was really feeling faded and old, I just turned 46 and I feel better than I did 10 years ago, in almost every way. I don't dread birthdays, I feel good and lucky to be so healthy.

You are doing so well with all you have going to be making your health a priority, also because it spills over to the kids as well. My daughters are used to me working out and eating well so it seems far more natural for them as a lifestyle choice as well. Good for you!!!
Yes, Fit Yummy Mummy really works!

Jan, Something I have come to realize is the same internal clutter that makes us gain weight is the same root cause of house clutter.

Suze Orman once said that a cluttered purse was a sign of sloppy finances. WHEW! You can bet I organized my purse when I heard that, and now I keep it organized too!

Maybe clutter reveals a poverty consciousness. I heard that a majority of overweight to obese people are more likely to be in a lower income group. So I figured changing the exterior would also change the mindset that put me there. Part of this process turns out to be de-cluttering! Isn't that interesting?

Thank you for all of your spring cleaning advice, my family is LOVING the living room. Just one shelf to go and that room will be done.
Hi Kaari, it's really great to make those kinds of connections, I think that it's really helpful too. I find that a lot of that also is tied to mindfulness, at least in my case :0) I find that if I can be more mindful everything seems to go better - otherwise it can get chaotic very fast - including my purse.

Mine used to be a nightmare but I also clean it much more regularly now and keep everything better organized, it's so much easier when I need to pay for something. I used to carry a lot of stuff in my purse, now it's just the bare necessities which works much better and easier to carry too. I got a smaller purse so that I wouldn't be tempted.

When I was at the height of our clutter, I definitely had a poverty mindset, I saved absolutely everything 'just in case'. I always have hated waste but ironically at some point it became wasteful of our space (both home and mind space) as well as our time to deal with it all. When I realized that, I think it was a turning point.

I love your thoughts about changing the exterior to change the mindset - it is sooo connected. More so than I ever imagined.

I'm really glad that you are enjoying your living room, it sounds fantastic!!
