Living Clean

Taking a break from life... is that allowed?

So, things have been crazy. I've all but dropped most of my regular life activities to keep up with the growing demands of having 3 kids in diapers and the continuous needs of active boys. I've also been trying to be focused on my Tupperware business - I'm excited to say I've been more and more successful! How?

My Business

Well, I guess the time I've spent partnered up with Janice has rubbed off a little, because although my house is still somewhat of a tornado alley and my desk is buried under mounds of ... well... stuff, I've been more effective using the times that I set aside to work - planning actions for specific times and actually getting away from my keyboard more often! It's nice to not feel chained to my desk.

Hard work and goal setting has been very useful for me. I've been printing off a "goal themometer" every month with my sales goal to reach for and it's made my months far more successful. When I can SEE the goals I've set, I make them. When I just "try" without the visual reminder, I don't do nearly as well!

I've also found another secret to WAHsuccess. An accountability partner. Someone who makes sure you are doing what you SAY you are doing. That way, I can't fool myself into thinking I've been being productive. It's harder to tell someone that you've made your phone calls/finished your to-do list, etc when you know that you haven't. I've found another TW rep in the states who is basically at the same point I am in her business and we're holding each other accountable and encouraging each other along the way. THAT is my biggest business builder to date!

I'm so excited that at the end of June, I had my most important Tupperware moment to date. I was promoted to manager. I have a team of great mommies I work with. My team is called the TeamWorks -because team work is how to be successful.

My House

As for my house - I admit that it's not perfect, but Janice has encouraged me before to remember that as a mom of little children ANY step is a good step in trying to maintain a house. So, although I have been trying to use the action plans I put together with Janice a long time ago, I've been somewhat deviating and actually just trying to make it my goal to get the counter in the kitchen clean once a day to sanitize it. So far, it's working.

I'm a little late on the spring cleaning binge, but I've been forcing myself to get some bigger clean up tasks done. I did our room first - holy cow, what a disaster! lol. Anyway, after a good couple of hours upstairs, baby gated with Tristan in my room while the boys played in theirs. I managed to fill an entire garbage bag of things to throw out and a Rubbermaid of things to sell at an upcoming fundraising garage sale! Yesterday, I hit the basement - where we've hidden 90% of the kids' toys, my business stock resides and everything else we dont have a specific home for. Man, did it feel GREAT to get a hold of more of that room. Another garbage bag of junk and 3(!!) boxes of books/toys/stuff to sell.

Next room is the office/dining room. I need to get these eating spaces cleaned up as our house is slowly being taken over by little ants and I hate it.

My extra-curricular

I know - how in the world does she fit anything else into that schedule!!?! Well, I honestly have no idea, but I'm working hard for the Weekend To End Breast Cancer. So far, fundraising hasn't lived up to my expectations and I'm worried that I wont reach my $2000 minimum goal. I hope that I'm wrong. Some upcoming "Stand outside the store" days are coming up along with some big events like a Tupperware Bingo night and even a possible Poker night! I'm worried too that I won't actually be able to DO the walk well since my training has only consisted of me tying a kid in a carrier and pushing 2 in a stroller for a 20 minute walk to the local playground a couple of times a week! Oh well - I do what I can!

My Kids

The only other thing to report on is my kids. They are good - growing too fast as usual.
Tristan is closing in on 1yr old!! He's got some pretty big teeth (so cute) and a great personality - fairly content at life, but man is he ever LOUD when he's not! lol. I think he's going to be walking soon.

Samuel is 2½ and has been developping more and more language skills which, of course, he astounds and surprises me with every day. For example, he came up the stairs (the change table is at the top of the stairs) and he points to the package of size 4 diapers and says "four" then walks off. !! I was stunned for a minute before I started laughing. He's hilarious.

William is 4 and very focus minded (which is my positive wording for a more common label like stubborn!). We've decided to keep him home from JK and I'll do some work with him here. He
s a computer whiz and can outplay both DH and me in the game Frogger. lol. Convincing him to use the toilet full time has been a continuing challenge. He's a smart, but definately not letting anyone control him. sigh. At least I know he's strong in his convictions! :)

Thanks for the ramble-a-thon. :) Hope everything is going well for everyone else!

I think it's a very good choice to step out of the walk this year. At some point we need to let go of a few things, even if the choice is hard. In the long run it's such a weight off and much better for everyone all around. There is always another year, should you choose to do so.

That's too bad about the bingo. I know what it feels like to go through the work and have no one show up, I've done that with an open house for Avon and my soap stuff, but I knew nothing about marketing or networking and for some reason was expecting people to vapourize out of thin air :0).

I need to get me a thermometor :0)

I know! Time has gone by so fast! He's growing up too quickly! :S
Bingo was a flop, unfortunately. There was a lot of interest but no one came :( Oh well. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And I learned alot about what to do better next time! lol @ the ladies w/ signs ;) It would be great to get that response! :D
I've decided to step out of the walk this year. Not something I wanted to do - but given my current level of overwhelmingness. I just don't have the energy or time to commit to training properly and fundraising has been harder than I thought it would be.
I LOVE my thermometer. It keeps it right in my face. :D Visual makes goals happen!

Hi Lisa, thanks for the update, I've been wondering how things have been going.

I love the idea of the goal thermometor, I am just working on a work at home time management program right now that is very visual and includes posting your number goals on a calender.

I find that helps a lot but now you've got the wheels turning!

I love the idea of your tupperware bingo, I bet lots of people would love to play bingo for tupperware (I just got this visual of women standing around on the streets with signs saying - will play bingo for tupperware).

I can't believe Tristan is almost a year already.

Be sure to keep us posted!

Check it out!
