I am currently in a transition period.I haven't been employed for about almost 5 yrs!For a woman to get a rewarding sense of total creation by way of the multiple monotonous chores that are her daily lot...as irrational as for an assembly line worker to rejoice that he had created an automobile because he had tightened a bolt.

Hi Jodi, I would have totally agreed with you a few years ago (and some days I just don't like housework no matter what!) but I discovered that these monotonous chores add up to something that I think is highly undervalued these days - a home that gives our children a solid base to grow up in and prosper as adults as well as having a happy childhood, feeling wanted and secure.
I often think that these days the scale has gone too far in the other direction - the value of 'women's work' is no longer appreciated - and therefore not even getting done by anyone sometimes.
The very term 'women's work' brings scorn, although it is nice that today men are more likely to be doing it too.
We've got more balance as far as women's options go, but it has brought us to having a lot of important things at home falling through the cracks as sometimes there is just too much to do if there is no set plan to do it all and women on the whole just seem to be getting more tired and more tired.
The best way to work through the monotony and to end procrastination is to keep your eye on the outcome and to be present in the moment. Be thankful for your ability to do the task, and for your need for it.
Have a house to clean? That's lucky by a lot of people's standards.
Have a healthy child to drive somewhere - again. That's lucky by a lot of people's standards to.
I have found that having gratitude for everything, even if it takes work, and for staying in the moment has done wonders for me to improve my attitude - which was the first step to overcome procrastination for me, although it still rears it's ugly head if I'm not careful.
