I'm excited to be adding a new feature to the No KAOS Zone - Go Groups!
Go Groups is an open feature, anyone can participate but members of the No KAOS Zone have the additional benefit of calling a new Go Group any time.
That means that if you are No KAOS Zone member and you would like to organize a Go Group of your own to fit your own time schedule, just pop in here and announce it - let us know the time and duration of the Go Group session and anyone who would like to join in can list their name, or just pop in at the appointed time.
Use the side share window to send a short note to each other as you start, progress and/or finish.
Keep it short and to the point - get in and get out and get on with your day!
CREATE A REOCCURING GO GROUP
If you find that a particular time slot works for you or that you would like to commit to a reoccuring GO Group to work on a specific project to completion, make a note when you create your GO Group that you would like to make it reoccurring and I will create another discussion for it and sticky it to the main GO Group listing to keep it easy to access and organized.
NOTE: Some group time slots may be on GOing 7 days a week. Please don't over commit. Decide on the day/s that you would like to participate and don't worry about the rest.
Otherwise you will find it to be too much and may end up quitting altogether.
You can push for one week at a time for a specific project if you feel the time is right, but too much ongoing is a recipe for peetering out over time.
GO GROUPS NOTIFICATION ON TWITTER
I will be announcing each Go Group Session on Twitter.
It is important that you announce it here with at least 24 hours notice if you are organizing one so that I can announce yours and so that others will have time set aside time to jump in as well.
You can create an account for free or use your existing twitter account if you already have one.
To create your account, go to to http://www.twitter.com
Be sure to follow me at http://www.twitter.com/queenofkaos
CAUTION
Twitter can be an amazing tool if you keep in mind that is what it is - a tool for you to use to your benefit.
It can also be an amazing time suck!
Using Twitter may increase our exposure so that we will get more participation and that will increase the frequency, fun and effectiveness of our groups.
So be sure to share!
Post the url to the Go Group discussion thread on your twitter anytime we have one lined up or before it begins.
If you do find twitter to be interesting and want to spend time on it, I have one Golden Rule for you...
USE A TIMER and get back to the real world when it rings.
KEEP IT SIMPLE
The power of using Go Groups is to create a concentrated focused time slot with a little accountability thrown in for good measure.
To do that, here are the rules...
Go Groups start exactly at the designated start time and end at the duration end time. The rule is that we get in, get out and get on with the good stuff of life!
Come on a few minutes early to announce your project and let us know that you are participating and at the end to announce your progress and your plan to maintain momentum in the future (create another go group or when you will pencil in another work session in your planner) and that's all there is to it!
