Living Clean

Well it has been quite busy over the last few weeks here.  I haven't been checking in until now, but I HAVE been continuing with my projects at home.

One of the main "Hot-Spots" on my Big Rocks list, was to get rid of a lot of papers related to work. Why was I keeping this at home?  Well as a teacher, I have to plan lessons in advance, and this annoying heap/mountain was of items that I had photocopied, and kept for "future use" ;-P ....  I really could not give myself a reason for keeping them all.  Many of them I took back to work, and filed  in my new office. I have a desk and space to put things there which will no doubt reflect on my home. That is good!

Others, I popped into the paper recycling bin, and some I stored here near the computer as scrap paper.

The other big headache that I've been working on is/was my Plastics Cupboard. Can anyone else relate?

I asked my practical Place-for-Everything daughter to sort it all out for me. She grouped the items according to size, and then again according to frequency of use. And the lids? Well the clever cookie took care of all that for me. She found an oversized plastic bag, and stacked them in up on their edges.

Result- I can find plastics I need without trashing the plastics cupboard!

I have set some routines in place. We have a basic morning/ afternoon and evening routine. I can tear myself away from my books/computer/telephone for an extra half an hour and can use my boost programme to quickly give the carpets and rugs a whizz round with the vacuum.  When I leave in the morning, I turn on the washing machine, and when I return, I get the laundry out on the line, and with the climate here, it's dry by early evening. With six of us at home, we need to do about 3 loads daily, which includes bedding , towels and all kinds of sports gear, as well as school uniforms!

I am feeling more positive, Spring is definitely in the air, and I am slowly seeing light at the end of the tunnel. The BOOST Circuit and the Take 5 Challenges help me every day!

Thanks Jan.

Hi Fee! That so timely about the plastic containers, my daughters just did a major sorting of ours. I just bought lots so that I would always be able to find a container for work and wouldn't you know it, I couldn't find any!

We have a new rule here that they must be washed and put away WITH LIDS. (I have a bunch that the lids will stick to the bottom when not in use!)

I wish I had thought to snap a picture before they put them all away.

I need to do a bit of sorting today too and create a small area for my work containers that I am only allowed to access :0) It will save a lot of frustration when I'm trying to get ready to go early am, I often work the 7 or 7:15 shift.

It saves money too, if I can't find my containers I have to buy lunch.

I"m also getting more disciplined in doing my boost, it makes such a big difference and gets so much easier when done consistently.

I definitely prefer to clean things before they get dirty!!
