Living Clean

I am new to the community, and I joined because I like the emphasis on positivity and the ability to get motivated to do things like clean my apartment - even though it feels like I never have time! We recently decided to try to accomplish one thing every night after work so that the weekend is not such a daunting time to think about doing chores and being productive... that's no fun, right!? So, the other huge task in our place is cooking. We never feel up to making new meals every weeknight because before long, it's 9 p.m. and you're still cleaning the kitchen. As sort of a compromise to this, we found this container called Foldtuk. It's storage but also bakeware so we can pull leftovers from the freezer and heat them without thawing. We can store in it again or throw it in the dishwasher and it collapses and, honestly, I just think it's some great info to pass along to you all and hope you check it out. Have a great week!!

Thanks for sharing Whitney, this sounds really handy!

Tips are great and one of the best things about having a community, there are so many things that can make it easier if we only know how.

Getting the kitchen in order is a fairly large section of the spring cleaning challenge, it is so essential. I think I'm going to go over it again myself because I need to get refocused on meal planning etc.

Not only for better nutrition and ease, something that has come up for us lately is that we are now required to have tags for our garbage and receive 60 free ones a year.

This doesn't leave much room for extra garbage. Convenience foods are one of the worst offenders for garbage and packaging, so I am really making an effort to do more baking.

I am actually glad about this development because the environment for me, is one of the issues that I feel strongly about. I am hoping that it motivated others to cut down on packaging as well.

In the larger areas this system has been in place already for a long time although some places get many more tags than others.

Lisa has some great tips on her blog, but it doesn't seem to up right now.

I also love the idea of accomplishing one thing every night, that to me is the true spirit of taking the simple approach to get big results. I'm sure that you are seeing some great results already.

Love your picture, that looks like quite an experience!
Thank you for sharing, Jan! I will have to check that link out - I agree with you about the importantance of environmental issues and our responsibility as good citizens to be mindful of this as much as possible. I look forward to checking out the rest of the board. :) :) :)
