About Me:: I have been married to the same man for 37 years. We have one son who has been married for 3 years and have a beautiful little girl (our granddaughter) who turned 1 year old in October. I have been out of a job for over 1 year. Babysat our granddaughter for the past year and will try to get a job in a few weeks.

What is your biggest challenge:: Getting rid of all the junk I collect. I have magazines from 5 years ago. I realize I need to look thru them and then throw them out, but it seems I never have time.

What has prevented you from success in thepast:: I guess I am just lazy and I can't seem to find the time.

How can the iShine Community help you to achieve your goals:: I have to look over the community and see what it's all about.

I find that the biggest thing when there is not enough time is to prioritize - as much what you are doing as what you want from your environment and for yourself in your life. Rather than being lazy, I think it's a symptom of doing too much - spreading yourself too thin, not always on things that are moving you ahead. Sometimes that's avoidance as well - not of the work so much as something else.

My favourite question when I'm feeling this way is... "is this moving me ahead or away from my vision of what I want to be"?

I've sorted quite a few magazines by looking at the covers only. But at some point I realized that I was still keeping too many (because I didn't have enough room for them - that's a good measuring stick) and then I asked myself - "how much time is going through these magazines costing me?

Is there something else that I would rather be doing (like decorating or using the new clear space for instance).

Then I realized that a place like the library would like to have them AND that pretty much anything in them I could google. Then I said - "Thanks goodness for google!"

When you do decide what to do with them it's important to take them right away to what ever place they are going, otherwise they end up another pile anyway.

A great way to start is to set aside 10 minutes 5 days a week to do nothing but tackle what ever is nagging you the most. You'd be amazed at what you can do. I find that often it isn't nearly as bad as I thought once I get started.

I like to sort things while I watch tv. It's not the quickest way but it's the most interesting :0)

I hope that this helps you with some ideas or direction - of course take what ever seems to suit you from it and leave the rest. I'm watching hoarders right now so I'm on a roll :0))
